Founded in 1999 by Dr. Dineshkumar Harursampath, the Nonlinear Multifunctional Composites – Analysis & Design (NMCAD) Lab has been involved in the primary research in geometric & material nonlinearities as well as their evolutionary interaction. The goal is to better understand non-classical phenomena in multifunctional composites leading to simultaneously high-fidelity & high-efficiency mathematical models enabling improved analysis & design techniques for futuristic aerospace structures. This is achieved by using state-of-the-art mathematical approaches like the Variational Asymptotic Method, Probabilistic Mechanics & Concurrent Multiscale Modeling.

The NMCAD Lab has been oriented in helping the research students in achieving their targets and beyond that along with instigating further interests and thrist for research. The research students become member of the lab and are being involved in undertaking current research projects along with their thesis work. This help them keeping their knowledge developments simultaneous to need of hour.
